Ripon the chorister's perspective
Finlay Martin enthuses
My first choir holiday was to Ripon, I enjoyed it a lot. It was hard sleeping on the first night because it was new to me. The dormitories were quite big but we had to keep our stuff under our beds as there were not many cupboards.
Our first outing was to the Black Sheep Brewery where we learnt about how beer was made. Then we went to Middleham Castle where we had some big games of Gang It, Great Fun. That evening we had our first Service of the holiday.
My favourite outing was of course the trip to Lightwater Valley theme park, where there was everything a theme park needs, from an amazing mile-long Roller Coaster to lovely hot doughnuts. But my favourite had to be the Dodgems because of the bashing and crashing. There were other fantastic rides like the Eagles Claw, Toad in the Hole and the Grizzly Bear. This was the highlight of the holiday. It was a fantastic holiday. Thanks!
