Review of the 2005 Epiphany Supper

What on earth are these mad people doing? Is it true that the Wars of the Roses are finally over? Is that Pete dressed up as Nora Batty? Was the Vicar really seen wearing a flat cap or is just a rumour? These questions and many more are answered below.

The Epiphany Supper theme this year was 'Yorkshire' and featured a veritable cornucopia of talent from 'up-north' including guest appearances by:

Geoff Boycott
Richard III
the Brontë sisters – plus their long forgotten relatives from Lancashire!
Compo, Clegg, Foggy and Nora Batty
James Herriott and Siegfried Farnon from All Choirboys Great & Small

...and a host of others introduced and kept in fairly tight control by Michael 'Ken' Parkinson..you know the sort of thing.

Sketches, songs, silly voices, jokes from the boys, silly costumes, plenty of audience participation - oh yes and a few carols at the start.. That about says it all, doesn't it?

Well, not quite. It really was a great evening of good company that not only raised approximately 680 towards funding this year's choir holiday to Ripon but was also served a superb hot supper – complete, of course, with Yorkshire Puddings. Big thanks must go to the wives and mums for all their hard work both before the event and serving on the night – and the biggest thanks of all must go to the Friends and the choir families, without whom the event would be no event at all.

We also raised approximately 100 via the raffle for the Tsunami Disaster Appeal Fund. A few days later, having heard that that appeal had already attracted huge support , FORAC's committee agreed to keep the money safe and give it to another charity later this year. We'll let you know which one in due course.
