Robin Hood entertains his Merry Choirboys
Nicholas McQuitty reports on this year's visit by choristers from Romsey Abbey to the Christmas pantomime at the Plaza Theatre
On Friday 17 January 2003 the choirboys, accompanied by the choirmaster (under sufferance?) were taken to the Plaza Theatre to see the annual pantomime. This year it is Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood (my brother is actually watching it with his Beaver Scout pack as I type this article!). This was very appropriate following last summer's choir holiday to Southwell, near Sherwood Forest (Robin Hood country).
We really enjoyed the play and had many laughs. We also rustled our sweet papers, cheered the heroes, booed and hissed the villains, shouted, "Look behind you!" and "Oh yes he is" or "Oh no he isn't" at the appropriate times!
On behalf of the choirboys I would like to thank the P.C.C. and all those concerned in making this outing possible.
